Volta Announces Appointment Of CFO & Corporate Secretary

Toronto, ON - May 15, 2009 - Volta Resources Inc. ("Volta" or the "Company") (TSX:VTR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Alan Rootenberg to the position of CFO and Corporate Secretary of the Company, on a part-time basis, effective today. Mr Rootenberg replaces Mr. Rob Whittall who is pursuing other opportunities but will remain on Volta's board of directors.
Rob is an original founder of Volta's predecessor company and we wish to thank him for his tireless efforts on behalf of the Company. We wish Rob all the best in his future endeavors.
Mr. Rootenberg is a Chartered Accountant and has over 25 years of industry experience and demonstrated success in senior management, accounting, corporate finance and corporate administration. Alan's experience includes serving as the CFO of a number of mineral exploration companies.
Volta is a mineral exploration company primarily focused on becoming the leader in the identification, acquisition and exploration of gold properties in West Africa.
